CARBONDALE – The Illinois APEX Accelerator at SIU Carbondale is excited to announce a partnership with the City of Carbondale to host an information session, “How to Do Business with the City of Carbondale,” that will aim to provide guidance for Government Contracting success. This session will take place on Monday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center, located at 200 S. Illinois Ave. in Carbondale.

The event is designed for individuals and businesses interested in the construction industry who are keen on exploring contracting opportunities with the City of Carbondale. The training topics will include Government Contracting, Government Industrial Base (GIB) Readiness, Selling to Government, and Subcontracting.

Participants will gain insights on:
• Eligibility for government contracts
• Finding out about contracting opportunities
• The bidding process
• Necessary certifications, including DBE
• Types of services utilized by the city
• Bonding and insurance requirements

The deadline to register is Monday by 8 a.m. There is no fee.
