Gott’s election marks a significant milestone, as he becomes only the second Williamson County Treasurer to hold this prestigious position. The first was Bruce Troutman, who served as president during his tenure as Williamson County Treasurer.

Gott, who has served as Williamson County Treasurer since 2019, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role. As president, he will oversee the association’s efforts to promote collaboration, provide professional development opportunities, and advocate for policies that benefit taxpayers and enhance the efficiency of county treasurer offices statewide.

“I am honored to have been chosen to lead this remarkable organization,” Gott said. “County treasurers play a vital role in managing public funds responsibly and ensuring transparency in local government. I look forward to working with my colleagues from across Illinois to continue advancing these goals.”

The Illinois County Treasurers Association provides education, support, and networking opportunities for its members while serving as a collective voice on matters affecting county governments. As president, Gott will lead the association’s initiatives to modernize financial systems, enhance public service, and ensure fiscal responsibility across the state.

Gott’s election is a proud moment for Williamson County, reflecting the continued tradition of leadership established by his predecessors, Bruce Troutman and Brinson Venable. “Following in Bruce and Brinson’s footsteps is both humbling and inspiring,” Gott added. “Their contributions to our county left a lasting legacy, and I am committed to upholding that standard.”
