MCLEANSBORO – Ivan Ervin went home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2024. He was 72 years old.
Born in Mt. Vernon, IL., and experienced his early childhood in rural Boyd, IL, he attended Casey Jr. High School in Mt. Vernon, IL, from 1964-1966 and part of his freshman year at Mt. Vernon High School. His parents purchased Parker Pharmacy on the south side of the square in McLeansboro in 1966. After high school graduation in 1970, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years as a Hospital Corpsman. He experienced several careers including assembly plant management, insurance sales, transportation, business ownership, multi-states in corrections and as a medical technician. Mr. Ervin retired as a Federal Police Dispatcher in Albuquerque, NM, in 2014. He returned to live out his last years in McLeansboro in 2016.
Mr. Ervin requested cremation and his ashes spread as per instructed.
Ivan is survived by their only child, Luke Ervin, who resides in Albuquerque, NM.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Pam, of 45 years; step-father Clifford Ervin; his mother Bessie (Burgett) Ervin; and his sister, Judy.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude and will be received at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL, who is in charge of arrangements.
