CREAL SPRINGS – George Robert (Jug) Parks, age 85, a resident of Creal Springs, IL., passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in the ICU at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL. 

George was born, June 15, 1939, in Creal Springs, IL. He was the son of Barnie Wilson and Evelyn (Holmes) Parks. He married Marjorie Arlene Cagle on October 29, 1960, in Crab Orchard, IL. He was a retired Coal Miner from Inland Steel. 

George attended Arnold View Baptist Church in Creal Springs. He enjoyed riding horses and competed in rodeos and horse shows.  George owned Roll-N-Rodeo.

There will be a private burial of ashes at Spring Hill Cemetery in Creal Springs, IL at a later date.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Parks of Creal Springs; his daughter, Kimberly Campbell and husband, Rodney, of McLeansboro, IL; and one sister, Alice McKinney and husband, Bob, of Marion, IL. Also surviving are grandsons, Judd Burnett and Koy Kennedy; along with a great-granddaughter, Karsen Burnett.

George was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kelly Kennedy; and a sister, Pat Hastings.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude and will be received at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL, who is in charge of arrangements.
